Outbound Programs

Au Pairs in France

Educational Merit Foundation is partnered with au-pair organizations in France to provide outbound au-pair programs.

To go to France as an au pair, you must be between 19 and 28 years old, have  experience babysitting, with two references. You must be a student when applying or have just finished your studies recently. A driver's license is not a requirement, but it is better to have one. It is necessary to have at least two years of French studies. To work as an au pair, you must attend French-language classes each week, for which you will pay about 77 € per month.

Most of our French families want to have an au pair for one year, typically starting in September. For a two to three month au pair, typically the program starts in June. However, if you accept to be placed in any large city in France, you can be placed for any time during the year.

You will be expected to work 30 hours per week, for which you will be paid 77 € per week. Your duties will include looking after children and some light housework.

You will have your own bedroom and you will have at least one day and a half off per week.

Your host family will provide full room and board.

Travel expenses and organization are not included.
